Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip – Ikotos, Chukudum, Lotukei, New Cush, Tsertenya, Sudan

In August, 2009 Evangelist Peter Yata and his 9 person evangelism team traveled east to Ikotos, Chukudum, Lotukei, New Cush, and Tsertenya, Sudan.  The team left Yei, Sudan on August 17 and returned on September 18.

The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Approximately 75% of the new believers had been animists, and 5% had been Muslims.  The JESUS Film was shown in the Arabic language with translation to mainly the Lotuko and Tabosa tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be done by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the African Inland Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan.  A total of 200 bibles were distributed in the Arabic language.

Discipleship training was based on the topic of “Salvation”.  Some of the verses used in this teaching were John 3:16; Romans 3:10-12, 23 5:8, 12 6:23 10:9-10, 13.
