Evangelism & Discipleship Training Trip – Adjumani, Laropi, and Mire Camps 1-3, Uganda

In October, 2006 Pastor Atanasio Biaja and his 9 person evangelism team traveled southeast to Adjumani, Laropi, and Mire Camps 1-3, Uganda. The team left Yei, Sudan on October 2 and returned on October 28.

The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Village Indicated Decisions For Christ
Adjumni 3,400
Mire Camps 1, 2, & 3 6,000
Laropi 3,700
Total 13,100

Approximately 45% of the new believers had been animists, and 2% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Madi and Acholi languages to mainly the Madi, and Acholi tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Pentecostal Church, and the Church of Uganda. A total of 200 bibles were distributed with 100 bibles in the Madi language and 100 bibles in the Acholi language. The population of these refugee camps has changed with Acholi and Madi tribes mostly replacing the Dinka and Nuer tribes. Insecurity and killings along the Nimule-Juba road has caused the camps to be filled with refugees from the Acholi and Madi tribes.

Our discipleship training concentrated on the theme “Fear of the Lord”. The team used the following scriptures in training: Psalms 19:9; 25:12-14; 34:9; 112:1; 145:17-19; 147:10-11; Proverbs 1:7; 9:10; 10:27; 14:26-27; 15:15, 33; 16:6; 19:23; Job 28:28; Malachi 3:16-17; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.
