Evangelism & Discipleship Training Trip – Logo, Kelego, Maradu, Mapoko, Lukupiri, and Adio, Sudan

In late May, 2006 Rev. Michael Lumori and his 11 person evangelism team traveled northwest to Logo, Kelego, Maradu, Mapoko, Lukupiri, and Adio, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on May 25 and returned on June 30.

The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Village Indicated Decisions For Christ
Logo 700
Kelego 550
Maradu 1,400
Mapoko 900
Lukupiri 1,000
Adio 800
Total 5,350

Approximately 70% of the new believers had been animists, and 2% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala language to the Mundu, Makaraka, Avokaya, and Baka tribes. Lingala is a widely spoken language in this area of Sudan and in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

A total of 1,000 New Testament bibles were distributed in the Mundu language (see photo below). This was the first time that most of these villagers had seen the Mundu New Testament. The New Testament was first translated into the Mundu language only last year in 2005. There was much joy, dancing, and singing when the Mundu villagers received their bibles.

During this trip there was much discipleship teaching. Two of the topics that our team taught on are listed below:
