Evangelism Trip – Leer, Adok, Koch, Duar, Sudan

In March, 2006 Evangelist Richard Deng Malwal and his 11 person evangelism team traveled north to Leer, Adok, Koch, and Duar, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on March 15 and returned on May 4.

The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Village Indicated Decisions For Christ
Leer 5,700
Adok 6,000
Koch 7,500
Duar 4,500
Total 23,700

Approximately 65% of the new believers had been animists, and 20% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Nuer and Dinka languages to the Nuer, Dinka, and Shilluk tribes. Two new churches were planted in Adok and Koch. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Sudan Pentecostal Church. A total of 600 bibles were distributed with 300 distributed in the Dinka language and 300 distributed in the Nuer language.

The team was welcomed in all the villages that they visited. They traveled by truck from Yei to Juba. Then they took a steamer up the White Nile River to Adok. Finally they used public transportation to go to the four major towns. From the four major towns they walked to the surrounding villages near each town. The indicated decisions shown above are grouped to include not only each major town but also villages that surround each major town.
