Evangelism Trip – Wowo, Nabanga, Bobodi, Madebe, Ibba, Sudan

In April, 2005 Evangelist Charles Sebit and his 11 person evangelism team traveled to several villages west of Maridi, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on April 16 and returned on May 8.

The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Village Indicated Decisions
for Christ
Wowo 600
Nabanga 450
Bobodi 700
Madebe 940
Ibba 300
Total 2,990

Approximately 65% of the new believers had been animists, and 15% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala and Zande languages to the Mundu, Avokaya, Zande, and Baka tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan.

The team reported that a large number of refugees are returning to this area. This area has been experiencing food shortages due to the lack of rains last year and early this year. Also, the flood of refugees is increasing food demand and is causing food insecurities. Because of these things, the team took extra food to share with the believers in this area. The good news is that the rains have finally come, and the people look forward to harvesting the second season crop. A total of 500 bibles were distributed in the Lingala language, and 500 bibles were distributed in the Zande language.

The team reported that many sick people were healed after the team prayed for each sick person. Also, many animist charms were burned. Finally, seven witch doctors made decisions for Christ.
