Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip – Moyo Area, Uganda

In April, 2005 Evangelist Peter Donga and his 6 person evangelism team traveled southeast to the Moyo area of Uganda. The team left Yei, Sudan on April 16 and returned on May 8.

During this trip 3,400 people indicated decisions for Christ in four locations surrounding Moyo. Approximately 45% of the new believers had been animists, and 2% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Madi and Acholi languages to mainly the Acholi, and Madi tribes.

One new Presbyterian church was planted in a village close to Moyo with 250 charter members. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Uganda, the National Pentecostal Church of Uganda, and the Church of Uganda. A total of 400 bibles were distributed with 100 bibles in the Acholi language and 300 in the Madi language.

The main purpose of this trip was for discipleship training. Because of confusion surrounding doctrines pertaining to the Holy Spirit, most of the training was on the Holy Spirit. The training was centered on the following topics:

Many other bible references were used and the teachings continued under generator lights into the night.
