Evangelism & Discipleship Training Trip Rasolo, Mukpara, Angabi, Tore, Lukupiri, Sudan
In October, 2004 Evangelist Simon Timo and his 9 person evangelism team traveled northwest to Rasolo, Mukpara, Angabi, Tore, and Lukupiri, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on October 15 and returned on November 24.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:
| Town | Indicated Decisions for Christ |
|---|---|
| Mukpara | 600 |
| Lukupiri | 450 |
| Tore | 300 |
| Angabi | 1,400 |
| Rasolo | 800 |
| Total | 3,550 |
Approximately 55% of the new believers had been animists, and 5% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala language to the Mundu, Avokaya, and Baka tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 200 bibles were distributed in the Lingala language.
The team reported that the church that was planted in Rasolo in February, 2003 is doing very well. Also the churches that were planted in Tore and Lukupiri in October 2003 are doing well. The churches are seeing the real differences between believing and worshiping Jesus and practicing witchcraft. The people requested that our teams come back on a more regular basis.
Much discipleship training occurred during the trip. Our discipleship training was entitled, The Cost of Being a Disciple. The teachings were centered on Luke 14:25-33 and Matthew 10:37-39.
