Evangelism & Discipleship Trip – Tali Post, Tindilo, Kawari, Rokon, Laporu, Sudan

In August, 2004 Evangelist Peter Lado and his 11 person evangelism team traveled north to Tali Post, Tindilo, Kawari, Rokon, and Laporu, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on August 9 and returned on September 8.

The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Camp
Indicated Decisions
for Christ
Tali Post
1,500
Tindilo
1,100
Kawari
1,000
Rokon 600
Laporu 1,200
TOTAL
5,400

Approximately 60% of the new believers had been animists, and 5% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Bari language to mainly the Mundari (Bari speakers) tribe. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 400 bibles were distributed in the Bari language.

The team reported that they saw many lasting results from the last evangelism trip to this area in August, 2003. Around 90% of the people who indicated decisions for Christ in August, 2003 are still committed to Christ. The two churches that were planted last year are doing very well. We are preparing Zachariah Elia to lead those churches.

Discipleship training was led by the team for one week. They taught about life among believers in the early church. The main emphasis in this training was on Acts 1, 2, and 3.

God did many miracles during the team’s visit as many sick people were healed after the team prayed for them. Also, many people who were healed in our last trip to this area came to the team to offer a word of thanks. There are no medical facilities in this area.
