Evangelism Trip – Rumu and Leiko, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

In October, 2003 Pastor Agustino Juraba and his 9 person evangelism team traveled one day south to Rumu and Leiko, DRC. Rumu, DRC is located about 50 km from Koboko, Uganda. The team left Yei, Sudan on October 17 and returned on November 1. During this evangelism trip a total of 7,500 people indicated they received Christ. Approximately 55% of the new believers had been animists. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala and Kakwa languages, and the Kakwa and Kaliko tribes were reached. The team showed the JESUS Film in seven different locations in Rumu.

One new Presbyterian church was planted in Rumu. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Community Evangelical Church of the Congo (CECA) and the new Presbyterian church. The evangelism team distributed 200 bibles in the Lingala language and 50 bibles in the Kakwa language to believers who could read.
