In August, 2003 Pastor Manoah Alimasi and his 14 person evangelism team traveled 2 days (because of bad roads) west to Gwawele, Bitima, Nabiapai, and Mandara, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The team left Yei, Sudan on August 18 and returned on August 30. The JESUS Film was shown some nights in the Lingala language and some nights in the Zande language. During this evangelism trip a total of 5,200 people indicated they received Christ. Approximately 60% of the new believers had been animists, and 8% had been Muslims. The Bazande and Logo tribes were primarily reached during this trip. The Zande people in the DRC are also known as the Bazande.

Regarding follow-up, the new believers were handed over to the Community Evangelical Church of the Congo, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Congo. The evangelism team distributed 200 bibles in the Lingala language, and 100 bibles in the Zande language to born again believers who could read.
