Evangelism Trip – Limuro, Wuji, Dongoro, and Kala, Sudan

In July, 2003 Pastor John Taban Felex and his 11 person evangelism team traveled east to Limuro, Wuji, Dongoro, and Kala, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on July 14 and returned on July 27. The JESUS Film was shown in the Bari language. During this evangelism trip a total of 5,700 people were born again as new believers in Jesus. Approximately 75% of the new believers had been animists, and 2% had been Muslims.

The Kakwa tribe was primarily reached during this trip. The people reached for Christ are really a forgotten group. They have no education and no health care, which has resulted in an outlook that lets them kill others for anything that they want. However, when they saw Jesus speaking in the Bari language many broke down and committed their lives to the Lord.

Regarding follow-up, some of the new believers were handed over to the Episcopal Church of Sudan. One new Presbyterian church was planted in Wuji. Also, another new Presbyterian church was planted in Kala. Pastor Santos Lugala, Evangelist Michael Poru and Evangelist John Idoru will be responsible for these two newly planted churches. The evangelism team distributed 200 Bibles in the Bari language to born again believers who could read.

The breakdown of expenditures for this evangelism trip are as follows:

Medicine $10
Fuel for the Truck $120
Pay for Truck Driver $30
Pay for the Evangelists (12 x $30) $360
Food and accommodations for Evangelists $550
200 Bari language Bibles $1,000
TOTAL $2,070
