Evangelism Trip – Wowo and Embe, Sudan

In May, 2003 Evangelist Jackson Gama and his 9 person evangelism team traveled 2 days northwest to Embe and Wowo, Sudan. Evangelist Gama is a Bible School graduate and Baka by tribe from the area of Wowo. The team left Yei, Sudan on May 1 and returned on May 19. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala language in these two towns and the surrounding villages. The team used our television to show the JESUS Film.

During this evangelism trip a total of 3,050 people were born again as new believers in Jesus. Approximately 80% of the new believers had been animists. The Baka, Mundu, and Zande tribes were reached during this trip. God demonstrated His mighty power to the animists during this trip as many sick people were healed. Many witchcraft workers were amazed at the miraculous healings in Jesus name. Many of these witchcraft workers were saved. They destroyed their magic charms and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Regarding follow-up, there were no churches in this area of Sudan, so we will plant two new churches. One new Presbyterian church will be started in Embe, and one new church will be started in Wowo. To plant these new churches two evangelists including Evangelist Gama will return to the area the second week of June. The evangelism team distributed 400 Bibles in the Lingala language to born again believers who could read.

The breakdown of expenditures for this evangelism trip is as follows:

Medicine $10
Clothing for the people of the area $250
Fuel for the Truck $150
Pay for Truck Driver $40
Pay for the Evangelists (10 x $30) $300
Food and accommodations for Evangelists $600
400 Lingala language Bibles $2,000
TOTAL $3,350
